What Is a Pet Reading?

A Pet Reading is one of the readings people are most surprised to learn I offer, and honestly one of the ones I enjoy most. It exists because animals carry things too — and often the person who loves them most is the one least able to see it clearly, simply because they're too close to notice from the outside.

What a Pet Reading actually is

This isn't me having a conversation with your pet the way you'd talk to another person, and it isn't a trick where I guess details about them to prove something. It's a reading of how they're feeling right now — what's sitting easily for them, what isn't, and what they'd want you to know if they could say it plainly.

Animals don't experience the world in words, but they do experience it, and that comes through clearly in a reading — as mood, as tension, as a kind of weather they're sitting in. My job is to read that weather and put it into words you can actually use.

The signs that bring people to book one

A dog who's suddenly clingy for no reason you can point to. A cat who's stopped settling the way they used to. Restlessness that started around the same time as something changing in the house — a move, a new baby, a new partner, another pet arriving, or one passing. Sometimes there's no obvious trigger at all, and that's exactly why people book: something's shifted and you can feel it, even if you can't explain it.

None of that means something is wrong, exactly — animals pick up on change the same way we do, they just don't have words for it. The reading is about naming what they're carrying, so you can actually help rather than just watching and wondering.

And sometimes nothing's wrong at all. Plenty of people book this reading simply wanting to know their pet is content — that's a perfectly good reason on its own, and often what comes back is exactly that: reassurance.

How I read it — two photos, not one

Every reading I do works from a photo rather than a date of birth, cards or tools — that's simply how I connect. A Pet Reading needs one more thing than usual: I ask for a clear photo of your pet and one of you. I read through your connection to them, so I need both — not because I'm reading your face for clues, any more than I read theirs, but because the bond between you is the thing I'm actually working through.

What you'll actually receive

A written Pet Reading arrives by email, usually within 48 hours and always within 7 days. It covers how your pet is feeling right now, anything they seem to be carrying, and where I sense they'd like your help — plus anything practical that's likely to make a real difference, where there is something.

Some readings turn up a lot; some come back mostly reassuring. Both are useful. You don't need to bring a specific worry to this one, though if there's something particular on your mind, mention it when you order and I'll speak to it directly.

A word on all of this

I want to be just as plain about this reading as I am about anything else: a Pet Reading is offered for entertainment purposes, as a different angle on what you're already sensing about your animal — never a diagnosis, and never a substitute for veterinary care. If your pet is unwell, in pain, or their behaviour has changed suddenly, please see a vet first. That always comes before a reading, not after it.

With that said, most people who book this one are simply looking to understand their pet a little better, and to know they're doing right by them. That's what I try to give you.
